Past Experience in the Himalayas
October/November 2018, trekked to Everest Base Camp from Lukla for two weeks. Overnight hike up Kala Patthar (5,643m) to catch first light on Mount Everest.
Next Steps
February 2020: Chimborazo (6,268 m), Ecuador. The furthest point from the centre of Earth.
September 2020: Everest Base Camp and Imja Tse (6,189 m) summit attempt.
Proposal
September 2020 expedition to Nepal, trek to Everest Base Camp to acclimatize for the summit attempt of Imja Tse (aka Island Peak). This is a technical mountaineering ascent that involves training to function at this altitude. At this altitude, there is less than 46% oxygen saturation in the air than there is at sea-level.
